Dementia Library

The Farnsworth Public Library’s Dementia Library is a collection of over 80 items for those with dementia or other conditions that interfere with their ability to carry out daily activities. The collection includes the items shown here as well as activities, kits, games, movies, music, local history items, and books. The resources in this collection are geared toward those with symptoms of cognitive impairment and their caregivers. Click on a question below to reveal or hide the answer.

The physical items of our collection are on the 3rd floor of the Farnsworth Public Library in Oconto, Wisconsin within the nonfiction shelves. They can also be requested through our online catalog and sent to any Infosoup library.

Items on the shelf may be borrowed immediately with an Infosoup library card during our business hours. A hold can be placed on any dementia collection item whether it is checked out or on the shelf anytime through our online catalog. These items have a lending period of 28 days with the option of renewal as long as no one else is waiting for the item.

There is NO COST to check out our dementia collection items. You will need to present your library card to check our items out.
